In Shopify, the embed code goes into the theme’s code. The theme editor’s visual settings have no field for it.

Copy the embed code

In Notiamo, open Clients, then the client, then the site. In the Embed code card, press the copy button. The line looks like this:

<script src="https://my.notiamo.com/widget.js" data-site="pk_…" defer></script>

Check that the store’s address is in Allowed origins on the same page. More in Install the widget.

Before you edit

  • Shopify lets you edit the code of a paid theme only after you buy it. A theme on trial must be bought first.
  • Shopify recommends duplicating the theme before you edit code, so you keep a copy to go back to.

Add the code to theme.liquid

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store.
  2. Next to the theme, click the horizontal menu icon (three dots), then Edit code.
  3. In the layout folder, open theme.liquid. Every page of the store is built on this file.
  4. Find the closing </body> tag near the end and paste the embed code just before it.
  5. Click Save.

Checkout pages use their own layout, so the review button does not appear there. Comments on the shop pages, products and cart work as usual.

Check that it works

Open the store with ?review=1 at the end of the address, for example https://your-store.com/?review=1. The review button appears at the bottom right. If it does not, see Fix common problems.
