WordPress has no built-in field for site-wide scripts. The usual way is a small plugin. Developers can use a theme hook instead.
Copy the embed code
In Notiamo, open Clients, then the client, then the site. In the Embed code card, press the copy button. The line looks like this:
<script src="https://my.notiamo.com/widget.js" data-site="pk_…" defer></script>
Check that the site’s address is in Allowed origins on the same page. More in Install the widget.
With the WPCode plugin
- In the WordPress dashboard, open Plugins, then Add New Plugin. Search for “WPCode”, install WPCode – Insert Headers and Footers and activate it.
- Open Code Snippets, then Header & Footer.
- Paste the embed code into the Footer box and save.
On WordPress.com, the official guide says code in headers needs a Personal, Premium, Business or Commerce plan. A free site must upgrade first. It uses the same plugin.
In a child theme (developers)
WordPress prints the wp_footer hook just before </body>. Add this to the functions.php of your child theme, with your own key:
add_action( 'wp_footer', function () {
echo '<script src="https://my.notiamo.com/widget.js" data-site="pk_…" defer></script>';
} );
Use a child theme, so a theme update does not remove the code. The hook only runs if the theme calls wp_footer(). Well-made themes do.
Check that it works
Clear any page cache plugin, then open a page with ?review=1 at the end of its address. The review button appears at the bottom right. If it does not, see Fix common problems.
