Notiamo has an MCP server at https://my.notiamo.com/api/mcp. Codex connects to remote MCP servers over streamable HTTP, set up in its config.toml file.
Create a token
In Notiamo, open Settings and find the Agent tokens card. Choose a name, the access and the site, press Create token and copy it. It is shown only once. The details are in Connect an AI agent.
Add the server
Codex keeps MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml. A trusted project can also have its own .codex/config.toml. The Codex CLI, the IDE extension and the desktop app share this configuration.
- Put the token in an environment variable, for example in your shell profile:
export NOTIAMO_TOKEN="YOUR_TOKEN"
- Add the server to
config.toml:
[mcp_servers.notiamo]
url = "https://my.notiamo.com/api/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "NOTIAMO_TOKEN"
Codex sends the token as Authorization: Bearer …, the header Notiamo expects. You can also write the header directly with http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }, but then the token sits in the file.
- Start Codex again, from a terminal where the variable is set. In the IDE extension or the desktop app, restart after you save.
Check it and use it
Type /mcp in Codex to see the active servers. Then, in the project of a site, ask: “Show the open Notiamo feedback for this site.”
The agent finds the right site through the .notiamo.json file in the project. Download it from the site page in Notiamo, or let the AI prompt create it. See Install the widget.
